The latter will vary by specific board, though, so make sure you have the requisite connector free (or an adapter on hand) before buying. Nvidia also says the standard version of the card is designed to draw 120 watts, and it should call for one six-pin power-supply connector. The GeForce GTX 960 has half what you'll find on the GeForce GTX 980 (2,048), and 60 percent more than the GeForce GTX 750 Ti (640).

Rather than rattle off the GTX 960's full list of specs, here's a summary direct from Nvidia. The GM206 inside the GTX 960 is a new slice of silicon for Nvidia, though. We won't delve too deeply into the nitty-gritty architectural details of Maxwell, since the chip architecture has now been out for nearly a year. That's not bad for a card that's launching at $200. On paper, specs peg the 960 as roughly 60 percent more powerful than Nvidia's budget stalwart, the GeForce GTX 750 Ti, or about half the pixel power you'll get from the high-end GeForce GTX 980. The GTX 960 is pretty easy to put into perspective if you're familiar with Nvidia's other Maxwell-based cards. But if your case has room for a 10.1-inch-long card, EVGA's overclocked GTX 960 SuperSC is a great balance of performance, price, and power efficiency at (or at least close to) the $200 mark. The only real downside is that the EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SuperSC is a little larger than some other GTX 960 alternatives.
